Battery Charger Reading 0 Amps
Battery Charger Reading 0 Amps. However, when i try to read the amperage from one pin to the other i always get zero. Any lower and you are reading battery voltage not charging.

Check that all the connections are tight. There is some low voltage protection on the charge controller that prevents it from charging if a battery doesn't meet a given voltage. I have an old sears battery charger.
Port 2 May Be Reading 54.1V, And Because That's Higher Than Float, It Draws No Current To Send To The Bank.
The output dc voltage from the rectifier is around 15 v and so from the output of the circuit. Some chargers have a relatively high voltage threshhold. In fact, 12.2 v shows that the battery is only 50% charged.
This Signals That The Battery Is Fully Discharged.
Next, start the car and take another reading. For example, say float is set for 54v. If you switch on the meter, the needle will move.
However, When I Try To Read The Amperage From One Pin To The Other I Always Get Zero.
There are situations where a 'smart' battery charger won't recognize a battery because the battery is deeply discharged. Apart from battery chargers, a multimeter can check amp, voltage, and other electric measurements. I measured the amps that out from the circuit without any load and it was around 1.5 amps.
A Battery Charger Reads 0 Amps When It Is Plugged Into A Power Outlet.
I have 2 imren 40 amp 3000mah batteries and 2 cheap no name (xiamen) single battery 18650 chargers. Typically, the current drawn by the battery at this moment will be 10 amps. If a connection was loose or whatnot, you'd not be measuring any current.

Checking battery chargers is very easy with a multimeter. Just match the reading of the meter with the batteries. Any lower and you are reading battery voltage not charging.
